80 A MCCB with 220 kA interrupting capacity — line protection for high-fault panels
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1180-6GD46-0AA0 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker rated 80 A continuous, designed for line protection in distribution panels where fault currents can reach 220 kA at 240 V. That interrupting rating drops to 154 kA at 415 V and 121 kA at 440 V, then to 17 kA at 500 V and 690 V — so the voltage class of your service entrance or sub-feed determines whether this breaker has headroom or is at its limit.
Above that it derates: 78 A at 55 °C, 77 A at 60 °C, 75 A at 65 °C, and 74 A at 70 °C.
Four-pole width at roughly 102 mm means it occupies two standard 54 mm DIN modules plus a sliver — verify the backpanel layout if replacing a narrower 3-pole unit. No undervoltage release or communication module is fitted on this variant; the TM210 release is self-powered.
