The 3VA1196-3EF32-0JH0: Interrupting capacity is the headline here: 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 10.5 kA at 690 V. That SCCR headroom covers most industrial distribution panels without needing a current-limiting upstream device. Thermal derating is published across the full operating range: full 16 A up to 50 °C, then 15.36 A at 55 °C, stepping down to 14.4 A at 70 °C. If your panel ambient runs hot, that's the number to size against.
Overcurrent release and auxiliary wiring
Fitted with a TM240 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release — fixed thermal and magnetic trip settings, no electronic adjustment. For applications needing adjustable long-time and short-time pickup, you'd step up to the electronic release variants in the 3VA family. The auxiliary contact block comes as 2 auxiliary switches plus 1 trip alarm switch (HQ configuration). That's enough for remote status and alarm feedback to a PLC or SCADA without adding a separate aux module. Includes an integrated shunt trip release (STL), order code 3VA9688-0BL32 for the release itself. No undervoltage release on this variant — if you need UVR, that's a different order code.
Mounting and environment
Dimensions are 130 mm high, 76.2 mm wide, 70 mm deep — standard 3VA frame size. Front protection is IP40, so it's fine inside a closed panel but not for washdown zones. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage from -40 °C to 80 °C.
