What this MCCB carries
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1196-3EF32-0KA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated 16 A continuous at 40 °C ambient — no derating needed until you hit 60 °C, where it drops to 15 A. Breaking capacity hits 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, and still holds 11.9 kA up at 690 V, so it handles high-fault industrial panels without cascading upstream. The TM240 thermal-magnetic release gives fixed thermal and magnetic trip settings for line protection — no field-adjustable dials, which means the protection curve is locked at the factory. The shunt trip (STL) auxiliary release lets you remotely trip the breaker via a control signal, useful for emergency-stop circuits or remote shutdown.
Panel fit and integration
At 76.2 mm wide, 130 mm tall, and 70 mm deep, this MCCB occupies a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint — it mounts on a DIN rail or direct panel with the SENTRON mounting accessories. The 800 V rated insulation voltage means it's comfortable in 400/480 V line-to-line panels with headroom for surge coordination. Power loss is 10.6 W maximum — negligible for thermal budgeting inside a sealed enclosure, but worth noting if you're packing multiple breakers side-by-side. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C, storage from -40 °C to 80 °C.
