1-pole SENTRON MCCB with TM210 release
The Siemens 3VA1196-4ED16-0AA0 is a 1-pole SENTRON molded case circuit breaker rated for 16 A continuous current with a TM210 thermal-magnetic release. Its 75.6 kA breaking capacity at 240 V AC handles high-fault scenarios typical of industrial distribution panels; at 415 V AC the rating drops to 9 kA, which still covers most secondary feeder faults in a 400 V system. The single-pole form factor (25.4 mm wide) fits standard DIN-rail or panel-mount enclosures where branch-circuit protection is needed without occupying multiple module slots.
Thermal-magnetic curve and derating
The TM210 release holds the full 16 A rating from 40 °C up to 55 °C, then derates to 15 A at 60 °C through 70 °C. That flat thermal curve means the breaker can be applied in a warm cabinet without losing capacity until the ambient exceeds 55 °C. Maximum power loss is 3.53 W, low enough to avoid significant heat buildup inside a sealed enclosure. The insulation voltage is rated at 500 V, and the maximum rated operational voltage for DC applications is 125 V.
Physical integration
At 70 mm deep, 25.4 mm wide, and 130 mm tall, the 3VA1196-4ED16-0AA0 occupies a single-pole width on the DIN rail. The front face carries an IP40 protection rating — suitable for dry indoor panels but not for washdown environments. No undervoltage release, trip indicator, or communication function is built in; this is a straight thermal-magnetic breaker for line protection only.
