What ships in the carton — and what the ratings mean for your panel
The 3VA1196-6EF32-0JH0: Inside the box you get the breaker with a shunt trip (STL) auxiliary release, plus two auxiliary switches and one trip alarm switch (HQ) pre-installed. That means the kit is complete for signaling the breaker state back to a PLC or annunciator — no separate accessory order needed for basic status feedback. The breaker also includes a voltage trip indicator, so a quick visual check tells you it tripped on a fault versus being manually opened.
Thermal derating — the 16 A rating holds up to 55 °C
The continuous current rating is 16 A from 40 °C through 55 °C ambient. At 60 °C it derates to 15 A, and holds at 15 A through 70 °C. That's a tight thermal curve — you lose only 1 A over a 30 °C rise above 55 °C, which gives you headroom in a warm enclosure. The maximum power loss is 10.6 W, so factor that into your panel heat budget if you're stacking several breakers side by side.
DIN-rail footprint and panel fit
The breaker measures 76.2 mm wide, 130 mm tall, and 70 mm deep. That 70 mm depth is the dimension you care about for gland-plate clearance or shallow backpanels — it's the same depth class as most SENTRON 3VA frame sizes, so it drops into existing cutouts without re-drilling. The 3-pole width of 76.2 mm (3 inches) matches the standard 3-module DIN-rail footprint for this frame family.
