SENTRON 3VA, 160 A, 4-Pole MCCB — Line Protection with TM220 Release
The Siemens 3VA1216-4EE42-0AA0 is a SENTRON-series molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) designed for line protection, carrying a 160 A rated current at 40 °C and a TM220 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release. Breaking capacity sits at 121 kA at 240 V and 75.6 kA at 415 V — figures that cover high-fault utility feeds and industrial transformer secondaries without cascading upstream. At 690 V the breaker still interrupts 11.9 kA, enough for most 690 V motor circuits. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, so the 3VA1216-4EE42-0AA0 is suitable for 690 V systems with margin.
The 160 A rating holds from 40 °C through 50 °C. Above 55 °C the breaker derates: 156 A at 55 °C, 151 A at 60 °C, 147 A at 65 °C, and 142 A at 70 °C. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C.
Dimensions are 70 mm deep, 140 mm wide, 158 mm high. The 140 mm width is standard for a 4-pole MCCB in the SENTRON 3VA platform — fits existing 3VA busbar and mounting-foot patterns without adapter plates.
