The SENTRON 3VA1216-4EF32-0AF0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated 160 A continuous at 40 °C, fitted with a TM240 thermal-magnetic trip unit. The TM240 release gives you a fixed thermal curve and fixed magnetic pickup at 240 A, so there's no dial to mis-set on the floor.
This breaker clears 121 kA at 240 V, 75.6 kA at 415 V, 52.5 kA at 440 V, 17 kA at 500 V, and 11.9 kA at 690 V. Those are the SCCR values the breaker itself can interrupt without welding or rupturing.
Thermal derating — the real-world current you can pull
At 55 °C it's 156 A, at 60 °C it's 151 A, at 65 °C it's 147 A, and at 70 °C it's 142 A. If your panel ambient runs 55 °C because of adjacent drives or transformers, you lose 4 A — plan for it.
Built-in auxiliaries and panel fit
The 70 mm depth, 105 mm width, and 158 mm height fit standard SENTRON mounting footprints; if you're swapping a 3VA1 frame, the bolt pattern and bus-bar centers match.
If you're freezing a BOM or filling a spare-parts bin, this is the active part to specify.
