It is designated for line protection — the primary role in a distribution panel is to protect cables and busbars against overload and short circuit, not motor or generator protection. Breaking capacity is the headline selector here: 121 kA at 240 V AC, 75.6 kA at 415 V, 52.5 kA at 440 V, 17 kA at 500 V, and 11.9 kA at 690 V. The TM240 release means the thermal pickup is fixed at 160 A and the magnetic trip is set at 240 A (fixed, not adjustable), which is typical for a feeder or main breaker application where you want a clean selectivity band with downstream branch breakers. Temperature derating is published across the full operating range: full 160 A from 40 °C through 50 °C, then 156 A at 55 °C, 151 A at 60 °C, 147 A at 65 °C, and 142 A at 70 °C.
If you need those, the base breaker accepts field-installable accessories, but this order code ships with the aux/alarm only.
Panel fit & mounting
That 105 mm width (about 4.13 inches) is standard for a 160 A frame MCCB — it occupies three 35 mm DIN-module positions if screw-mounted on a backplate, or bolts directly to a busbar system. The 70 mm depth means it clears most standard enclosure depths without a projection cover. Maximum power loss is 33 W at rated load — relevant for enclosure thermal calculations if the breaker is enclosed in a non-ventilated cabinet with other heat sources.
