The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1216-4EF32-0CH0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 160 A continuous current at 40 °C, with a TM240 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release that handles both overload and short-circuit protection in one device. Its breaking capacity hits 121 kA at 240 V, 75.6 kA at 415 V, 25 kA at 440 V, and 11.9 kA at 690 V — so it can sit on the secondary side of a distribution transformer or feed a high-fault panelboard without cascading upstream. If you're replacing a breaker in a feeder panel or a main disconnect, this is the right class. The front face carries a trip indicator so a quick visual scan tells you if it's tripped on fault vs. manually switched off — saves time on a troubleshooting walk.
Current derating and thermal reality
Above that it starts to step down: 155.6 A at 55 °C, 151.2 A at 60 °C, 146.8 A at 65 °C, 142.4 A at 70 °C.
Dimensions are 105 mm wide, 158 mm high, 70 mm deep. Mounting is via the rear screw terminals or optional DIN-rail adapter; the terminals accept copper or aluminum conductors sized for 160 A.
