The TM240 thermal-magnetic trip unit handles overloads and short-circuits without external power. At 240 V it interrupts 121 kA; at 415 V it's 75.6 kA; at 440 V it drops to 25 kA; at 690 V it still holds 11.9 kA. For a 480 V panel feeding motor loads or a transformer secondary, that 25 kA at 440 V covers most industrial service-entrance and feeder applications. That trip alarm gives a discrete signal when the breaker has opened on a fault, which is useful for a PLC input or a panel alarm light.

The integrated auxiliary trip module carries order code 3VA9688-0BL30. The shunt trip (STL) design lets you trip the breaker remotely by applying a control voltage; no undervoltage release is fitted, so the breaker stays closed on control power loss unless you add that feature separately.
