This is a line-protection variant, not a motor-protection or ground-fault version, so it is sized for feeder or main breaker duty in distribution panels. The interrupting capacity is the standout figure here: 220 kA at 240 V, 154 kA at 415 V, 75.6 kA at 440 V, 30 kA at 500 V, and 17 kA at 690 V. The 690 V rating of 17 kA still covers most downstream sub-distribution scenarios.
Temperature derating — the real-world current capacity
Above that, derate per the published curve: 156 A at 55 °C, 151 A at 60 °C, 147 A at 65 °C, and 142 A at 70 °C. If this breaker lands in a non-air-conditioned enclosure or a high-ambient panel room, use the 60 °C or 70 °C column for your load calculation.
Front-face protection is IP40, so it is suited for indoor panel mounting where no washdown or dust ingress is expected. The design accepts an optional motor drive for remote operation.
The 3VA series carries IEC 60947-2 certification for molded case circuit breakers. The manufacturer provides RoHS and REACH declarations as standard compliance documentation with the product.
