What this MCCB delivers
The Siemens 3VA1220-4EF32-0KA0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for line protection, carrying 200 A continuously at 40 °C ambient without derating. At higher temperatures the rating steps down: 194 A at 55 °C, 188 A at 60 °C, 182 A at 65 °C, 176 A at 70 °C — useful to know if the breaker sits in a warm enclosure or near other heat sources. Breaking capacity is 121 kA at 240 V, 75.6 kA at 415 V, 52.5 kA at 440 V, 17 kA at 500 V, and 11.9 kA at 690 V. That covers most industrial distribution panels up to 690 V line-to-line. The 3-pole construction fits three-phase feeds, and the TM240 thermal-magnetic release provides short-circuit and overload protection. A shunt trip release (STL) is built in — voltage-triggered remote tripping for emergency stop or supervisory control. No undervoltage release, no ground-fault monitoring, no communication function on this variant. The 105 mm width and 158 mm height match the standard SENTRON 3VA panel footprint.
Panel fit and environment
Dimensions: 105 mm wide, 158 mm tall, 70 mm deep. Mounts on a DIN rail or panel-mount base in the standard SENTRON 3VA cutout. Operating temperature range -25 °C to 70 °C, storage from -40 °C to 80 °C. Maximum power loss is 42 W — factor that into enclosure thermal design if the panel is densely packed.
