200 A SENTRON MCCB — Line Protection with TM240 Trip
The Siemens 3VA1220-4EF42-0AJ0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker rated for 200 A continuous current on a 4-pole frame, configured for line protection with a TM240 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release. Interrupting capacity reaches 121 kA at 240 V, 75.6 kA at 415 V, 25 kA at 440 V, and 11.9 kA at 690 V — the 415 V figure is the one that governs most European industrial panel designs, giving selectivity headroom for transformer-fed main breakers. Full 200 A rating holds through 50 °C ambient; above that, derate linearly to 176 A at 70 °C. The TM240 thermal element tracks the cable temperature curve, so no separate overload relay is needed for the feeder.
Panel Fit and Auxiliary Contacts
Dimensions: 140 mm wide, 158 mm high, 70 mm deep — fits standard SENTRON 3VA mounting footprint. IP40 on the front protects against tool entry in enclosed panels; the breaker itself is not rated for washdown environments. Comes with 2 auxiliary switches and 1 trip alarm switch (HP type) factory-fitted. The trip alarm closes on fault, so a PLC digital input can log the event without polling the breaker position. No undervoltage release, no shunt trip, no ground-fault module, no communication function — this is a straight thermal-magnetic feeder breaker.
