What this MCCB delivers
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1220-4GF42-0BA0 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 200 A continuous current (Iu) with a TM240 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release. Its interrupting capacity hits 121 kA at 240 V and 75.6 kA at 415 V — that's the fault-clearing muscle for a main feeder or heavy branch in an industrial panel. The 800 V rated insulation voltage (Ui) tells you it's built for 400 V class systems with headroom.
Ratings that matter for fit
The TM240 release means the thermal pickup is fixed at 200 A, with magnetic trip set at 240 A — no interchangeable trip units, so what you see is what protects. The 200 A rating holds flat from 40 °C to 50 °C, then derates to 176 A at 70 °C. If your panel ambient runs hot, that derating curve (–) is the one to check against your load. Interrupting capacity drops with voltage: 121 kA at 240 V, 75.6 kA at 415 V, 25 kA at 440 V, 11.9 kA at 690 V. For a 400 V line, the 75.6 kA figure is what you compare against your available fault current. The 4-pole construction with 100% N-conductor protection handles three-phase plus neutral without derating the neutral pole.
Built-in undervoltage release
This breaker ships with an integrated undervoltage release (UVR) — part number 3VA9608-0BB11 for the auxiliary trip assembly. That UVR will trip the breaker if supply voltage drops below a threshold, which is standard for motor feeder protection or safety disconnects where you want automatic dropout on undervoltage. No auxiliary contacts or communication module on this variant; it's a straight line-protection device.
Panel fit and handling
Dimensions are 140 mm wide by 158 mm high by 70 mm deep — a standard 4-pole MCCB footprint for DIN-rail or screw-mount panel integration. The front face carries IP40 protection (finger-safe), so it's suited for enclosed distribution boards where no water spray is present. Latching endurance is rated at 15,000 operations, which covers frequent switching in a feeder role.
