What this MCCB carries and where it fits
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1220-5EF32-0KE0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated 200 A at 40 °C, designed for line protection in distribution panels. Its interrupting capacity reaches 187 kA at 240 V AC, 121 kA at 415 V, 75.6 kA at 440 V, 30 kA at 500 V, and 17 kA at 690 V — meaning it can safely clear faults up to those levels without cascading upstream. The 70 mm depth and 105 mm width fit standard MCCB mounting footprints in switchgear enclosures.
Thermal derating and power loss
Rated current holds at 200 A from 40 °C through 50 °C ambient, then derates to 194 A at 55 °C, 188 A at 60 °C, 182 A at 65 °C, and 176 A at 70 °C. Maximum power loss is 42 W. For a panel builder, that means the breaker can be grouped in a 50 °C enclosure without current reduction — above that, the derating curve governs the actual load it can carry.
Auxiliary and release options
The breaker ships with a shunt trip (STL) auxiliary release and provisions for up to 4 auxiliary switches HQ. It does not include an undervoltage release or ground-fault monitoring. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C.
