Function and fit for a 250 A isolation point
It provides visible-break isolation for a circuit but carries no overload or short-circuit protection — that is, it is a disconnect switch, not a circuit breaker. The intended role is a service-disconnect or maintenance-isolation point downstream of a protective device.
What the 250 A rating means for panel integration
The 250 A continuous rating on the IEC frame 250 tells you the switch's main contacts are sized for that current under normal load conditions. Because this is a switch disconnector without overload protection, the upstream feeder breaker or fuse must provide the overcurrent protection for the conductors and load. The three auxiliary changeover switches give you three independent sets of N/O and N/C contacts for status indication to a PLC or panel lamp.
