What it is and what it does
The SENTRON 3VA1225-1AA42-0DE0 is a 4-pole switch disconnector on the IEC frame 250, rated at 250 A. It provides visible isolation for a circuit — it is not a circuit breaker and carries no overload or short-circuit protection. The integrated undervoltage release (208-230 V AC, 50/60 Hz) automatically opens the switch when control voltage drops, which is common in safety interlock or emergency-off circuits where loss of control power must de-energize the load. Four auxiliary switches (form C / changeover contacts) report the main contact position back to a PLC or status lamp.
Deployment context and panel integration
This is a panel-mount device for a switchboard or distribution enclosure. The nut keeper kit simplifies mounting on a mounting plate or DIN rail adapter. The 4-pole configuration (3 phases + neutral) suits it for three-phase systems where the neutral must also be isolated. The undervoltage release coil draws continuously when energized; verify the control transformer is sized for the holding current.
