What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA1225-1AA42-0DF0 is a 4-pole switch disconnector from the 3VA1 series, IEC frame 250, rated at 250 A. It is a straightforward disconnect device — no overload or short-circuit protection built in, so it serves as a visible-break isolation point in a distribution panel, not a combined motor-protective device. The integrated undervoltage release (208-230 V AC, 50/60 Hz) provides automatic tripping on voltage loss, which is a common requirement for safety circuits or emergency-stop chains. It also carries one auxiliary switch HQ and one trip alarm switch HQ for remote status feedback.
