The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1225-5EF32-0CC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for line protection, carrying a continuous current of 250 A across the 40 °C to 50 °C ambient band without derating. Above that, the thermal curve steps down: 243 A at 55 °C, 237 A at 60 °C, 230 A at 65 °C, and 223 A at 70 °C — so in a hot panel or outdoor enclosure, the actual ampacity is the derated figure, not the nameplate 250 A. Breaking capacity is voltage-dependent: 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V, 75.6 kA at 440 V, 30 kA at 500 V, and 17 kA at 690 V. For a 480 V panel (common in North America), the relevant figure is the 440 V or 500 V rating — whichever is closer to the line-to-line voltage — so plan the available fault current against those numbers.
Kit completeness — what ships in the carton
This order code ships as a complete MCCB with an undervoltage release (UVR) factory-installed and two HQ auxiliary switches. No separate UVR module to order and fit in the field — the kit is closed. The base switch is 3VA12255EF320AA0; the auxiliary release is the UVR variant. Ground-fault monitoring is not included, so if the spec calls for GF protection, that is a separate add-on. Dimensions: 105 mm wide, 158 mm tall, 70 mm deep. That 70 mm depth is the body only — allow clearance for the UVR coil projection and the auxiliary switch wiring channel when laying out the DIN-rail or backplate.
