What this MCCB carries
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1225-5FF42-0DA0 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 250 A continuous current at 40 °C. It holds that rating flat through 50 °C — at 55 °C it derates to 243.3 A, and at 70 °C it's still good for 223 A. That thermal curve means you don't lose headroom until the panel ambient pushes past 50 °C. Breaking capacity is 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V, 36 kA at 440 V, and 17 kA at 690 V. That 187 kA figure at 240 V covers high-fault utility feeds; the 121 kA at 415 V handles most industrial distribution downstream of a transformer. The overcurrent release is a TM240 thermal-magnetic type. An undervoltage release (UVR) is fitted as standard — part number 3VA9608-0BB25 for the integrated auxiliary trip. No auxiliary contact block is included; that's a separate add-on if you need remote status.
Footprint and panel fit
Dimensions are 158 mm high, 140 mm wide, 70 mm deep. That 140 mm width is a 4-pole frame — it'll take up four module spaces on a DIN rail if you're using a mounting plate adapter. The IP40 front protection means it's fine inside a closed panel; no washdown rating. N-conductor protection is set at 50% of the phase rating. No phase-failure detection, no ground-fault monitoring, no communication module — this is a straight line-protection breaker with a UVR trip coil.
