The Siemens 3VA1450-5EF32-0AF0 is a 3-pole IEC frame 630 molded case circuit breaker with a 55 kA interrupting capacity at 415 V (class M), rated continuous current In of 500 A. The TM240 thermal-magnetic trip unit gives adjustable overload protection Ir from 350 A to 500 A and short-circuit pickup Ii from 5 to 10 times In. It ships with one auxiliary switch (changeover H) and one trip alarm switch (changeover).
The adjustable Ir (350–500 A) lets you match the thermal trip to the actual load cable ampacity, not just the breaker frame. The Ii range of 5–10× In gives a magnetic pickup between 2500 A and 5000 A, which clears bolted faults fast but rides through motor inrush on a large pump or compressor circuit.
