Full 500 A rating holds up to 50 °C ambient; above that the breaker derates linearly — 488 A at 55 °C, 476 A at 60 °C, 464 A at 65 °C, and 452 A at 70 °C (–). Maximum power dissipation is 122.7 W, which drives enclosure ventilation requirements when the breaker is continuously loaded near its rating. The 110 mm depth, 138 mm width, and 248 mm height (–) fit standard SENTRON 3VA panel cutouts; IP40 on the front suits indoor panel installation but not washdown environments.
Interrupting capacity across voltage classes
The interrupting capacity drops as system voltage rises: 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at both 415 V and 440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 11.9 kA at 690 V (–). For a 480 V panel with an available fault current of 65 kA, this breaker provides headroom. The 3-pole design handles three-phase circuits; no undervoltage release or shunt trip is built in, so external accessories are needed for remote tripping.
