Thermal derating is specified across the full operating range: 500 A at 40-50 °C, stepping down to 452 A at 70 °C. That means in a warm panel — say 55 °C ambient — the breaker still carries 488 A without nuisance tripping. The TM240 release is a fixed thermal-magnetic type with no trip indicator and no undervoltage release, so it's a straightforward line-protection device for distribution feeders, not a motor-protection or ground-fault variant.
The 4-pole footprint fits standard SENTRON panel cutouts; no special adapter plate needed.
