Switch Disconnector for 630 A Main Isolation
The Siemens 3VA1463-1AA32-0KB0 is a 3-pole switch disconnector in the 3VA1 IEC frame 630 series, rated at 630 A continuous current. It is a non-fused, non-protective device — meaning it provides no overload or short-circuit protection — intended strictly for isolation and switching duty under load. The 630 A continuous rating on an IEC frame 630 means this part is sized for main incoming supply isolation in a panel or a large motor control center feeder. It is not a motor-starting device — the absence of overload protection means a separate motor-protective breaker or overload relay must be wired upstream.
This is a stocked line item in the 3VA family, so lead times are typically short for standard quantities.
Integration Notes
The shunt trip coil draws its control voltage from a separate circuit, not the main bus. Verify the control transformer or UPS supplying the shunt trip is rated for the inrush of the coil; the datasheet specifies the VA burden at rated voltage. The two auxiliary switches are changeover (SPDT) contacts. They are wired to the terminal block on the front of the disconnector; no additional wiring kit is needed for standard status feedback.
