What this breaker brings to a 630A line
The Siemens 3VA1463-5EE42-0AA0-ZD00 is an IEC frame 630 molded-case circuit breaker with a class M breaking capacity — Icu of 55 kA at 415 VAC, 4-pole construction. That 55 kA rating means it can safely interrupt a fault current up to that level without welding contacts or cascading failure upstream, which is the deciding number for panel SCCR coordination. Overload protection uses a TM220 thermal-magnetic trip unit, adjustable Ir from 440 A to 630 A; short-circuit pickup is fixed at Ii = 8 × In (5040 A at the 630 A setting). The N conductor is unprotected (solid neutral), and the breaker ships with a nut keeper kit for DC Power OEM builds in China.
What the ratings mean for panel integration
The 4-pole configuration (3 phases + solid neutral) suits it for three-phase distribution panels where the neutral bus is continuous and not switched. The TM220 thermal-magnetic trip gives a fixed short-circuit pickup of 8× In, so on a 630 A setting the magnetic trip fires at 5040 A — fast enough to clear a bolted fault before the let-through energy damages downstream buswork. The nut keeper kit is a mechanical detail for OEMs mounting the breaker in a DC Power enclosure; it keeps the terminal nuts captive during wiring, which saves time on a production line.
