The overload protection range Ir = 440…630 A is set via a dial on the trip unit; the short-circuit pickup Ii is adjustable from 4 to 8 times In (2520…5040 A). This gives the site electrical engineer flexibility to match the breaker to the actual cable and load without swapping trip packs. The 24 V DC universal release accessory powers a shunt trip or undervoltage release — common in remote-trip or safety-circuit applications where a control signal must open the breaker independently of the thermal-magnetic mechanism.
Integration notes
The 24 V DC release and the two auxiliary changeover switches (1 NO + 1 NC each) plug into the accessory slots on the left side of the mechanism — verify polarity on the release coil before energizing. The TM240 trip unit is field-adjustable, so no separate rating plug is needed.
