The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1510-5EF32-0AB0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for line protection, carrying 1000 A continuously at 40 °C with a TM240 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release. The interrupting capacity scales with system voltage: 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 52.5 kA at 690 V — so the same frame covers high-fault applications from 240 V through 690 V without upsizing the breaker. The TM240 release is a thermal-magnetic trip unit, meaning thermal protection for overloads and magnetic for short-circuits, set at the factory for 1000 A frame rating. Two built-in auxiliary switches (HP type) provide status feedback without an add-on module.
Current derating is published per ambient: full 1000 A up to 50 °C, then 960 A at 55 °C, 940 A at 60 °C, 920 A at 65 °C, and 900 A at 70 °C.
