It is designed for main feeder or large subfeed applications in industrial switchboards and panelboards. The TM240 thermal-magnetic release provides fixed overload and short-circuit protection, with no voltage-trip or ground-fault monitoring built in. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, and the interrupting ratings are 187 kA at 240 V AC, 121 kA at 415 V AC, 121 kA at 440 V AC, 75.6 kA at 500 V AC, and 52.5 kA at 690 V AC — sufficient for high-fault-current installations downstream of a large transformer.
Rated current holds at 1000 A from 40 °C through 50 °C, then derates to 960 A at 55 °C, 940 A at 60 °C, 920 A at 65 °C, and 900 A at 70 °C. Maximum power loss is 330 W — panel ventilation or forced cooling may be needed if the breaker is enclosed near other heat sources.
