This covers high-fault utility feeds and large motor branch circuits without cascading upstream. The continuous current rating holds at 1000 A from 40 °C through 50 °C, then derates to 960 A at 55 °C, 940 A at 60 °C, 920 A at 65 °C, and 900 A at 70 °C. For a panel running at 55 °C ambient, the usable rating drops 40 A — plan the load accordingly.
Dimensions are 210 mm wide, 320 mm high, and 120 mm deep. That heat must be ventilated or factored into the enclosure thermal budget — at full load the breaker dissipates the equivalent of a small space heater inside the panel.
Release and auxiliary configuration
The TM240 overcurrent release is a thermal-magnetic type — fixed thermal pickup for overload, magnetic instantaneous for short-circuit. It ships with 4 auxiliary switches (HQ type) pre-installed.
