What this breaker delivers
The Siemens 3VA1510-6EF42-0BA0 is a 4-pole IEC frame 1000 molded-case circuit breaker rated for line protection with a TM240 thermal-magnetic trip unit. Its headline number is the 70 kA breaking capacity at 415 V (class H) — that means it can safely interrupt a bolted fault up to 70 kA without venting or upstream damage, which is the figure that drives selectivity coordination in a distribution board feeding motor control centers or large machine tools. Overload protection is adjustable via the TM240: Ir from 700 A to 1000 A, so you set the continuous current to match the load cable or busbar rating. Short-circuit pickup Ii is fixed at 5 to 10 times In (5000–10,000 A), which is a standard motor-starting band — it holds through inrush without nuisance tripping.
Integration notes
The breaker ships with a nut keeper kit and includes an undervoltage release (24 V DC) as a factory-fitted accessory — that release is compatible with both the 3VA1 and 3VA20 frames, so if you are standardizing on the 3VA platform, spares for the release are shared. The N conductor is unprotected (solid neutral), which is typical for 4-pole distribution where the neutral is not switched.
