MCCB for line protection with UVR and full aux switch set
The Siemens 3VA2010-5HL36-0DL0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker rated for 100 A continuous current across the full ambient range from 40 °C to 70 °C, so no derating is needed for panel temperature rise up to that ceiling. It is a 3-pole unit designed specifically for line protection — feeder or main breaker duty in a distribution panel, not motor protection. Breaking capacity scales from 187 kA at 240 V down to 3 kA at 690 V, which gives selectivity headroom at common low-voltage levels while still clearing faults on 690 V systems. The factory-fit auxiliary switch complement includes two auxiliary switches, one trip alarm switch, and one electrical alarm switch, plus an undervoltage release (UVR) — a complete signalling and shunt-trip package that eliminates field-fitting loose accessories. The UVR drops the breaker on loss of control voltage, which is standard for emergency-stop or undervoltage protection schemes.
Dimensions and mounting
The breaker measures 105 mm wide, 181 mm high, and 86 mm deep — a compact 3-pole footprint that fits standard SENTRON 3VA panel cutouts and busbar centres. The 86 mm depth leaves clearance for rear-connected busbar systems or cable entry behind the breaker.
Thermal and environmental limits
Operating temperature spans -25 °C to 70 °C, and storage range extends from -40 °C to 80 °C. Maximum power loss is 16 W at rated load — a useful figure for panel heat-budget calculations. The breaker includes a trip indicator for visual fault confirmation.
