SENTRON 3VA2010-5HL36-0HH0 — 100 A Molded Case Circuit Breaker, Line Protection
The Siemens 3VA2010-5HL36-0HH0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 100 A continuous current, designed for line protection in distribution panels. It carries 100 A across the full ambient temperature range from 40 °C up to 70 °C — no derating curve to chase in a warm enclosure. The 3-pole frame accepts a trip unit adjustable between 150 A and 1 200 A, so the same breaker body can be tuned to different load sizes within that window. Short-circuit breaking capacity is specified per voltage level: 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 3 kA at 690 V. That 187 kA at 240 V gives headroom for high-fault utility feeds or transformer secondaries where available fault current runs high. The 3 kA at 690 V is a low figure — if the installation is at 690 V, verify the available fault current stays under that limit.
Panel Fit and Auxiliary Configuration
The breaker occupies 105 mm width, 181 mm height, and 86 mm depth — a standard MCCB footprint for a 100 A frame. Depth of 86 mm (3.39 in) is shallow enough to clear a 200 mm deep enclosure backplate without crowding the gland plate. The auxiliary switch block is factory-configured with 2 auxiliary switches plus 1 trip alarm switch (HQ type), and the shunt trip (STL) is installed. No undervoltage release or ground-fault monitoring on this variant. Power loss at full rated current is 13.5 W maximum — low enough that ventilation slots in the enclosure cover are adequate; no forced cooling required for a single breaker in a typical panel. The trip indicator and voltage trigger are present, so a remote status contact or PLC digital input can capture the trip event without an add-on module.
