What this MCCB delivers
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2010-5HN32-0AL0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for a continuous 100 A across the full ambient range from 40 °C up to 70 °C — no derating needed in a warm panel. Its ETU350 electronic trip unit gives you adjustable overload and short-circuit protection curves, so you can coordinate selectively downstream without nuisance trips. With a breaking capacity of 187 kA at 240 VAC and 121 kA at 415 VAC, it handles high-fault utility feeds and transformer secondaries where the available fault current is serious. The insulation voltage is rated 800 V, so it's comfortable on 480 V or 600 V class systems.
SCCR and selectivity headroom
The 187 kA at 240 V and 121 kA at 415 V mean this breaker can sit at the main or feeder position in a panel fed from a large transformer without needing a current-limiting fuse upstream. The ETU350's adjustable I²t on delay and short-time pickup let you cascade downstream breakers rated lower than the available fault current, as long as the let-through energy is coordinated. At 500 V the SCCR drops to 75.6 kA, and at 690 V it's 3 kA — still usable on 690 V drives or generators, but you'll want to verify the fault level at that voltage.
Physical fit and panel integration
The 3VA2010-5HN32-0AL0 measures 105 mm wide, 181 mm tall, and 86 mm deep. That 105 mm width is the standard 3-pole MCCB footprint for the SENTRON 3VA platform — it clips onto a DIN rail or mounts with the rear bracket. The front face carries an IP40 protection class, so it's fine inside a dead-front panel but not for washdown zones. The trip indicator is visible through the clear cover, and the auxiliary switch configuration (2 aux + 1 trip alarm + 1 electrical alarm) is built in, so you don't need to add a separate module for status feedback to the PLC.
