What this MCCB is and what it protects
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2010-5HN32-0CL0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 100 A continuous current across the full ambient range from 40 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed up to that ceiling. It is designed for line protection in distribution panels, meaning its trip curve is shaped to clear feeder faults while coordinating with downstream branch breakers. The interrupting capacity is 187 kA at 240 VAC, 121 kA at 415/440 VAC, 75.6 kA at 500 VAC, and 3 kA at 690 VAC — so it handles high-fault scenarios on 480 V or 600 V class systems without cascading upstream. An undervoltage release (UVR) is built in, and the auxiliary switch complement includes two auxiliary switches plus a trip alarm and an electrical alarm switch (HQ type).
Panel fit and integration
The breaker measures 105 mm wide, 181 mm tall, and 86 mm deep — a standard footprint for SENTRON 3VA frame sizes. It mounts on a DIN rail or directly to a backplate via screw terminals. The 100 A rating and 16 W maximum power loss mean thermal management inside the enclosure is straightforward; no forced cooling is typically required for a single unit at rated load.
