What this 3-pole MCCB brings to a panel
The SENTRON 3VA2010-5HN36-0AC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated 100 A continuous from 40 °C all the way up to 70 °C — no derating curve to chase across the operating range. It's designed for line protection, meaning it sits at the feeder or main distribution point, not downstream on a motor circuit. Breaking capacity hits 187 kA at 240 V and still holds 121 kA at 415/440 V, so it handles high-fault utility feeds without cascading upstream. The 105 mm width and 86 mm depth fit standard MCCB panel cutouts; the 181 mm height clears most enclosure gutters.
Breaking capacity across voltages — the real SCCR story
Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, and the interrupting ratings step down cleanly: 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 3 kA at 690 V. That last figure at 690 V is worth noting — if your panel feeds a 690 V bus, this breaker still clears a fault, but the available fault current must stay under 3 kA. For most 400 V-class industrial distribution, the 121 kA headroom means it pairs well with high-capacity transformers without needing a current-limiting fuse upstream.
Auxiliary switching and monitoring
Comes with two HQ auxiliary switches built in — no separate add-on block to order. No undervoltage release, no ground-fault monitoring, no communication function. If you need remote trip indication or status feedback to a PLC, the two HQ contacts cover that. If you need undervoltage protection or ground-fault sensing, you'll be adding external modules or a different variant.
Physical fit and environmental range
Dimensions are 105 mm wide, 86 mm deep, 181 mm tall. Operating temperature spans -25 °C to 70 °C; storage from -40 °C to 80 °C. Max power dissipation is 13.5 W — manageable in a standard enclosure without forced ventilation, but worth checking if the panel is densely packed with multiple breakers. No trip indicator on the front face.
