What this MCCB delivers
The Siemens 3VA2010-5JP32-0AH0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker rated for 100 A continuous current across the full ambient range from 40 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed up to that ceiling. That means the breaker holds its full 100 A rating even in a hot panel or enclosure, which is where most line-protection breakers start to lose headroom. Three-pole construction, designed for line protection (feeders, not motor branch circuits). The interrupting ratings climb to 187 kA at 240 V and 121 kA at 415 V, so it handles high-fault-current utility feeds without cascading upstream — a key spec for main or sub-main breaker positions in industrial switchboards. At 690 V the interrupting capacity drops to 3 kA, which is typical for a 100 A frame at that voltage; verify the available fault current at your secondary side before committing the BOM line.
Panel fit and integration
Footprint: 105 mm wide, 181 mm tall, 86 mm deep. Built-in communication function lets the breaker report status and trip events to a PLC or BMS. Comes with 2 auxiliary switches plus a trip alarm switch (HQ), so you get both status and fault indication without adding external relays.
Lifecycle and sourcing posture
For a critical-spare holding, this is the one to put in the cabinet before it fails. The SENTRON 3VA2 series has a solid field reputation; the 100 A frame with full-temperature rating and high interrupting capacity covers a lot of main-breaker and large-feeder positions across industrial and commercial installs.
