Breaking capacity and protection profile
The Siemens 3VA2010-5JP32-0AK0 is a 3-pole IEC frame 100 molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) with a 55 kA breaking capacity at 415 V (class M). That Icu rating means it can safely interrupt fault currents up to 55 kA without damage — critical for high-fault installations like large transformer secondaries or industrial distribution boards where upstream coordination demands a high-interrupt device. The ETU550 electronic trip unit provides LSI protection: long-time (Ir) adjustable from 40 A to 100 A, short-time (Isd) from 0.6x to 10x In, and instantaneous (Ii) from 1.5x to 12x In. This selectivity range lets you coordinate downstream breakers while keeping the main tied tight enough to clear arcing faults.
Built-in signaling and integration
Factory-fitted with a changeover auxiliary switch (H), a changeover trip alarm switch, and an electrical alarm switch (HQ). That means you get both a status contact for remote indication (open/closed) and a separate alarm contact that closes only on a trip event — no need to add external relays or stack additional accessories. The neutral conductor protection option (external CT, up to 160% of In) is a field-fit kit, not pre-installed. Panel builders should account for the additional DIN-rail space if the neutral CT is specified later.
