What this MCCB does on the line
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2010-5JQ32-0BH0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for line protection duty. It carries 100 A continuously at 40 °C ambient — no derating needed up to 70 °C, which makes it a solid pick for warm enclosures or panels near ovens. Breaking capacity hits 187 kA at 240 V, tapering to 121 kA at 415 V and 75.6 kA at 500 V. That SCCR headroom covers most industrial distribution panels without needing a current-limiting fuse upstream. The breaker includes an undervoltage release (UVR) and comes pre-equipped with 2 auxiliary switches plus a trip alarm switch (HQ configuration). Communication function is built in, so it can report status to a PLC or BMS without an add-on module. The trip indicator is mechanical — visible even when the breaker is off, useful for a walk-down.
Panel fit and dimensions
Footprint: 105 mm wide, 181 mm tall, 86 mm deep. Standard MCCB cutout for a 3-pole frame. The 86 mm depth is the body only — allow extra for the UVR coil and auxiliary wiring behind the panel. No DIN-rail mount; this bolts directly to the panel backplate.
