What this MCCB carries and where it fits
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2010-5JQ32-0HA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for a continuous current Iu of 100 A. It is configured for line protection — meaning it protects cables and busbars against overload and short-circuit, not motor or generator circuits. The frame sits at 105 mm wide by 181 mm tall by 86 mm deep, which is a standard MCCB footprint for panel-mount or DIN-rail integration. Breaking capacity runs from 187 kA at 240 V down to 3.4 kA at 690 V, so the interrupting rating at your system voltage is the one that decides fit — at 415 or 440 V it still holds 121 kA, enough for most industrial distribution boards.
Trip unit and auxiliary releases
The overcurrent release is an ETU560 electronic trip unit, which gives you adjustable long-time, short-time, instantaneous, and ground-fault protection curves. The ground-fault monitoring uses summation current formation on the L-conductor — it sums the phase currents and trips on residual imbalance, not zero-sequence sensing. A shunt trip (STL) is integrated for remote or emergency-off tripping. The supplied basic switch is order code 3VA2010-5JQ32-0AA0, and the integrated auxiliary trip is 3VA9688-0BL30. No auxiliary contact block is fitted on this variant.
Thermal derating and operating limits
The breaker carries its full 100 A from 40 °C up to 50 °C. Above that it derates linearly: 96.25 A at 55 °C, 92.5 A at 60 °C, 88.75 A at 65 °C, and 85 A at 70 °C. If your panel ambient runs hot, that 85 A at 70 °C is the number to size against. Maximum power loss is 13.5 W. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to +70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to +80 °C.
