What this MCCB delivers on a real panel
The Siemens 3VA2010-5KP32-0AB0 is a 3-pole SENTRON molded case circuit breaker rated for 100 A continuous current across the full ambient range from 40 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed up to that ceiling, which simplifies the panel thermal budget. Its interrupting capacity hits 187 kA at 240 V AC, dropping to 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, then 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 3 kA at 690 V. That 187 kA figure at 240 V means it can clear a high-fault bolted short on a 240 V distribution bus without upstream coordination headaches — useful for industrial subpanels fed by large transformers. The line-protection design targets feeder and main breaker roles, not motor branch-circuit protection. Communication function is onboard, so it can report trip status and current values to a PLC or SCADA without an add-on module.
Mounting and integration
Dimensions are 181 mm high, 105 mm wide, 86 mm deep — fits standard MCCB panel cutouts. The supplied basic switch is 3VA20105KP320AA0. Two auxiliary switches HP are included, giving status feedback without extra wiring. No undervoltage release and no ground-fault monitoring on this variant; if those are needed, you are looking at a different suffix. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage from -40 °C to 80 °C (-). Power loss at rated current is 13.5 W maximum — factor that into enclosure ventilation.
