What this MCCB carries
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2010-6HL32-0AB0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 100 A continuous current (Iu) with an ETU320 electronic trip unit, configured as a line protection device. Its breaking capacity reaches 242 kA at 240 V, 187 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 121 kA at 500 V, and 4 kA at 690 V — these are the fault-current levels it can safely interrupt without upstream cascading.
Thermal derating and real-world current
The 100 A rating holds flat through 50 °C ambient. Above that it derates linearly: 96.25 A at 55 °C, 92.5 A at 60 °C, 88.75 A at 65 °C, and 85 A at 70 °C. If your panel internal ambient runs hot — common in sealed enclosures or near busbars — the actual continuous current you can pull is the derated figure, not the nameplate.
Trip unit and auxiliary contacts
The ETU320 electronic trip unit handles the overcurrent protection curves. The breaker ships with 2 auxiliary switches (HP type) built in, which is enough for status feedback to a PLC or a panel lamp without adding a separate aux block. No undervoltage release, no shunt trip, no ground-fault monitoring — this is a straight line-protection build.
Mounting and environment
Dimensions are 86 mm deep by 105 mm wide by 181 mm tall — fits a standard MCCB footprint on a DIN rail or a panel-mount base. Front face is IP40 rated, meaning it is protected against tools and solid objects larger than 1 mm; the body itself is not sealed against water ingress, so mount it inside a cabinet. Operating range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range -40 °C to 80 °C. Maximum power dissipation is 13.5 W — factor that into your enclosure thermal budget.
