What this MCCB delivers — and what the ratings mean for your panel
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2010-6HL32-0BH0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 100 A continuous current across the full ambient range from -25 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed up to the 70 °C mark. That 100 A is the continuous current, not the trip setting; the thermal-magnetic trip unit is adjustable between 150 A and 1200 A, so this breaker covers feeder and main applications where the load current is 100 A but the short-circuit and overload protection must be set higher to coordinate with downstream devices. The interrupting ratings are the real headline: 242 kA at 240 V, 187 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 121 kA at 500 V, and 3 kA at 690 V. That SCCR at 240 V is high enough for most industrial service-entrance or large-feeder applications without needing a current-limiting fuse upstream. At 690 V the rating drops sharply — this is a 600 V class breaker, not a 690 V main; use it on 480/600 V systems where the available fault current stays under 121 kA. It ships with an undervoltage release (UVR) integrated — part of the order code's -0BH0 suffix — plus two auxiliary switches and one trip alarm switch (HQ). That means you get remote status indication and undervoltage protection without adding separate accessories. The design is line protection (feeder / main), not motor protection; if you need a motor-circuit protector, look at the 3VA2 variants.
Physical fit and panel integration
Dimensions: 86 mm deep, 105 mm wide, 181 mm tall. That 105 mm width (about 4.13 inches) is standard for a 3-pole MCCB in this frame size — it fits the usual DIN-rail or panel-mount footprint. The depth of 86 mm (3.39 in) is compact enough for shallow enclosures. No special cutout or adapter plate required for most distribution panels. The breaker includes a trip indicator (mechanical flag) for local fault indication. Maximum power loss is 16 W, which is moderate for a 100 A MCCB — factor that into enclosure thermal management if you're packing multiple breakers in a sealed cabinet.
