The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2010-6HL32-0CL0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 100 A continuous current, built for line protection duty. It carries a 242 kA interrupting capacity at 240 V — that's the number that decides whether it holds or blows apart on a bolted fault downstream. At 415 V it still breaks 187 kA, so it's sized for high-fault panels feeding motor control centers or distribution boards where the utility transformer is close.
What the ratings mean for fit
The 100 A rating holds flat from 40 °C to 50 °C — no derating needed in a warm panel. It starts stepping down at 55 °C: 96.25 A, then 92.5 A at 60 °C, 88.75 A at 65 °C, and 85 A at 70 °C. If your enclosure runs hot, that derating curve is what tells you whether this frame size works or you need to bump up. The rated insulation voltage is 800 V, so it's comfortable in 480 V and 600 V systems with headroom. This breaker is fitted with an ETU320 electronic trip unit — no communication, no voltage trigger, no phase failure detection. It's a straight line-protection device: overcurrent and short-circuit only. The auxiliary contact block includes 2 auxiliary switches, 1 trip alarm switch, and 1 electrical alarm switch (HQ type), so you get status feedback for a PLC or alarm panel without adding a separate module.
Panel integration
Mounts on a standard DIN rail or can be screw-fixed to a backplate. Dimensions: 105 mm wide, 181 mm tall, 86 mm deep — fits a 3-pole MCCB footprint common across the SENTRON 3VA family. Maximum power loss is 16 W, so plan for ventilation if you're stacking several breakers in a sealed enclosure. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C.
