MCCB for line protection — 100 A frame, ETU350 trip unit
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2010-6HN32-0AA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated at 100 A continuous current (Iu) across the full ambient range from 40 °C to 70 °C, meaning no derating is needed for elevated panel temperatures up to that ceiling. It carries a line protection designation — the ETU350 electronic overcurrent release is configured for feeder and distribution duty, not motor branch circuit protection. The interrupting ratings are substantial: 242 kA at 240 V AC, 187 kA at 415 V and 440 V AC, and 121 kA at 500 V AC, dropping to 3 kA at 690 V AC.
Panel fit — dimensions and mounting
Front IP40 protection means the breaker face is protected against tools and solid objects over 1 mm, but the enclosure itself must provide the overall IP rating for the panel.
Power loss is 13.5 W maximum — a modest heat contribution to the panel thermal budget. The breaker has no undervoltage release, no voltage trigger, no communication function, and no ground-fault monitoring version, so it is a basic line-protection device without add-on modules.
