What this MCCB carries and what it means for your panel
The Siemens 3VA2010-6HN32-0DC0 is a SENTRON 3VA2 molded case circuit breaker rated for 100 A continuous current (Iu) with an ETU350 electronic trip unit. That 100 A holds flat from 40 °C up to 50 °C, then derates to 85 A at 70 °C — so in a warm enclosure you still get full rating up to 50 °C ambient. Breaking capacity hits 242 kA at 240 VAC and 187 kA at 415 VAC, which gives plenty of SCCR headroom for most industrial distribution panels without needing a current-limiting fuse upstream. This is the line protection version (not motor protection), so it's sized for feeder or branch-circuit overcurrent protection in switchboards and sub-distribution boards. The 3-pole frame fits standard MCCB mounting footprints — 105 mm wide, 181 mm tall, 86 mm deep — and includes an undervoltage release (UVR) plus two auxiliary switches (HQ type) for status feedback to a PLC or panel indication.
Key ratings and what they mean for fit
The ETU350 trip unit provides adjustable overload and short-circuit protection — it's the electronic, not thermal-magnetic, type. That means better accuracy and the ability to fine-tune the trip curve to coordinate with downstream breakers. The 242 kA at 240 V is the maximum interrupting capacity; at 690 V it drops to 4 kA, so confirm the available fault current at your system voltage before specifying. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V. Maximum power loss is 16 W.
Integration notes for the panel builder
Mounts directly onto the DIN rail or panel-mount adapter for the 3VA2 frame. The 105 mm width occupies three 35 mm module spaces. Undervoltage release coil wiring needs a separate control circuit — it's not powered from the breaker's own line side. Auxiliary switches (2 HQ) are pre-installed; wire them to the terminal block on the left side of the breaker. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C, storage from -40 °C to 80 °C. No communication module on this variant.
