What this MCCB delivers for a 100 A line
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2010-6HN32-0KC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated 100 A continuous across the full ambient range from 40 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed up to that ceiling. Interrupting capacity hits 242 kA at 240 V, 187 kA at 415 V, and still holds 121 kA at 500 V, so it handles high-fault utility feeds and transformer-secondaries without cascading upstream. At 690 V it drops to 3 kA, which is typical for this frame class. The line-protection design means it trips on overcurrent and short-circuit only; no ground-fault module inside. Shunt trip (STL) auxiliary release is factory-installed, plus two HQ auxiliary switches for status feedback to a PLC or annunciator.
Panel fit and mounting
Footprint is 105 mm wide × 181 mm tall × 86 mm deep — a standard SENTRON 3VA frame that bolts into a distribution panel or switchboard. No DIN-rail mount; these are rear-connected or busbar-fed. The 86 mm depth leaves clearance behind a typical 200 mm deep enclosure door. Verify busbar drilling pattern against the terminal layout before panel layout.
Thermal budget and environment
Maximum power loss is 13.5 W at rated load — modest for a 100 A frame, so internal cabinet heating is manageable. Operating ambient spans -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C. No voltage-trigger or undervoltage release on this variant, and no communication function. The auxiliary switch design is 2 HQ switches (high-performance, form C).
