What this MCCB delivers for the panel
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2010-6HN32-0KL0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 100 A continuous current across the full ambient range from 40 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed up to that ceiling. Its breaking capacity is 242 kA at 240 V, 187 kA at 415 V and 440 V, and 121 kA at 500 V, dropping to 3 kA at 690 V. That means it handles high-fault utility feeds and transformer secondaries without cascading upstream, a key consideration for selectivity studies. Designed for line protection, this MCCB carries a shunt trip release (STL) and a complement of auxiliary switches: two auxiliary switches, one trip alarm switch, and one electrical alarm switch (HQ designation). The trip indicator and voltage trigger are present; undervoltage release and ground-fault monitoring are not fitted on this variant. Panel integration is straightforward — the 105 mm width, 181 mm height, and 86 mm depth fit standard SENTRON 3VA mounting footprints. Maximum power loss is 13.5 W, so thermal budgeting inside the enclosure is manageable. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C, with storage from -40 °C to 80 °C.
