What this MCCB carries and where it fits
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2010-6HN36-0AE0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 100 A continuous current (Iu) with an ETU350 electronic overcurrent release. The ETU350 gives you adjustable long-time, short-time, and instantaneous pickup settings — useful when coordinating downstream feeders or matching a motor-start curve without swapping trip units. Breaking capacity runs 242 kA at 240 V AC, 187 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 121 kA at 500 V, and 4 kA at 690 V. That 187 kA at 415 V covers most industrial distribution panels fed from a medium-voltage transformer; the 4 kA at 690 V is the ceiling for high-voltage motor circuits. Four auxiliary switches (HQ type) are built in — no separate add-on module needed for status feedback to a PLC or annunciator panel. The front face carries IP40 protection, which keeps tools and fingers out but isn't rated for washdown.
Thermal derating and panel integration
Rated continuous current holds at 100 A up to 50 °C ambient. Above that it steps down: 96.25 A at 55 °C, 92.5 A at 60 °C, 88.75 A at 65 °C, and 85 A at 70 °C. If your panel ambient runs 60 °C near the breaker — say, above a VFD stack — plan for the 92.5 A ceiling, not the nameplate 100 A. Dimensions are 105 mm wide × 181 mm high × 86 mm deep. The 105 mm width is a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint for Siemens SENTRON 3VA frames; it drops into the same DIN-rail or panel-mount cutout as other 3VA2-frame breakers. No rewiring needed if swapping a like-frame unit — the line and load lugs land in the same positions.
