What this MCCB is — and what the ratings mean for fit
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2010-6HN36-0CL0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 100 A continuous current, flat across the full ambient range from 40 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed up to the max operating temperature. That means it holds its full 100 A rating in a warm panel, not just on paper at 40 °C. Breaking capacity is 242 kA at 240 V, 187 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 121 kA at 500 V, dropping to 3 kA at 690 V. At typical 480 V distribution levels it clears faults well above most utility transformer ratings — SCCR headroom for almost any industrial panel. Designed for line protection (not motor or feeder), with an undervoltage release (UVR) built in and auxiliary switch configuration: 2 auxiliary switches + 1 trip alarm switch + 1 electrical alarm switch HQ. The trip indicator is present — visual confirmation without opening the cover.
Panel fit and mounting
Power loss is 16 W maximum — negligible for thermal budget in a ventilated enclosure, but worth noting if the panel is sealed or densely packed.
