What this breaker brings to the panel
The Siemens 3VA2010-6HN42-0AF0 is a 4-pole IEC frame 100 circuit breaker with an ETU350 LSI electronic trip unit. Rated In=100A, it covers overload protection adjustable from 40A to 100A and short-circuit protection from 1.5 to 10 times Ir, with instantaneous pickup fixed at 12 x In. The 85kA breaking capacity at 415V (class H) means it can safely interrupt high fault currents without cascading upstream — a key spec for main or tie breakers in industrial distribution panels where SCCR headroom matters.
What the ETU350 trip unit gives you in the field
The ETU350 is an LSI (Long-time, Short-time, Instantaneous) electronic trip unit. Long-time pickup (Ir) is adjustable from 40A to 100A — that's the continuous current rating you set for the connected load. Short-time pickup (Isd) adjusts from 1.5 to 10 times Ir, with a time delay that allows coordination with downstream breakers. Instantaneous (Ii) is fixed at 12 x In, covering bolted faults. Neutral conductor protection is adjustable: OFF, 50%, or 100% of phase current. That's useful on 4-wire systems where you need to protect the neutral against harmonics or unbalanced loads.
Integrated aux and alarm contacts
The breaker ships with one auxiliary switch (changeover H) and one trip alarm switch (changeover). That means you get a status contact for remote indication of the breaker position (open/closed) and a separate contact that signals when the breaker has tripped on a fault. No need to order add-on blocks for basic remote monitoring — it's already on the van.
Panel integration notes
Mounts on a standard DIN rail or can be panel-mounted via the frame's integral lugs. The 4-pole footprint takes up four module widths on the rail. Terminal capacity accepts cable sizes typical for 100A circuits — plan for lug or busbar connections per the manufacturer's torque specs. The nut keeper kit (included) helps retain the terminal screws during wiring, which saves time on the panel assembly line.
